Alaska to Share with the Whole Family ~
Our tour was the thrill of a lifetime. Captain Matt promised us that we would see whales. He kept his promise. We saw so many that we couldn't count them. We stayed out watching them for quite a while. He also took us to see sea lions, sea otters, salmon jumping and a brown bear fishing for salmon and eating his catch. His boat was amazing as he built it himself. The scenery was fantastic. The price was reasonable. It was great to have 8 of our family with us on the tour. The weather was the best. We also saw an eagle up high in a tree on our way back to the dock.

Matt was an amazing guide - incredibly knowledgeable and put forth every effort to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible. His boat was SO nice - had a heated/enclosed section with plenty of seating which was great for the cold weather, but overall the boat had so much space to move around and catch all of the views. Incredible experience, highly recommended! I definitely plan to book with him again in the future for family visits!

We had a fantastic time with Captain Matt! The Sea Piper is a comfortable vessel with indoor and outdoor covered seating. It was a smooth ride and we saw so much wildlife. Multiple whales, sea lions, seals, otters, eagles, puffins and some scenic viewing around the beautiful Lazarus island. Take the trip, you’ll have a great time!

After traveling for 40 days in Alaska, I took my last trip with Captain Matt! And I couldn't have had a better send-off! It was the best trip ever. We saw so many marine species, from whales to the friendly otters... It was a comfortable trip, and the captain made every effort to ensure we had the experience he promised! So, I can't recommend him more highly! It's a 5-star experience!

I sent my family out on Sea Piper on September 29th [2022]. There were 4 adults and 2 children. When I asked them what the highlight of their cruise on Quantum of the Seas was they all said the whale watching trip in Sea Piper.

We had the best experience with Matt and Gaby. They took the time to stop for viewing the whales and explained different marine life we saw. I would recommend 100% to go with them for whale watching.

Absolutely could not recommend this more 15/10. Matt was fantastic. My sister Sarah and I booked months in advance because I wanted to see St. Lazaria with the Tufted Puffins. Day of, he took us out early to make it happen (because of the declining weather conditions). He was also just a delightful tour guide: accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. You can tell that he knows the area really well. We saw sea lions, seals, a whale, cormorants, sea otters, gulls, pigeon guillemots, and TUFTED PUFFINS. It was a fun ride over. If you are going through Sitka this tour is a must!!!

We had an amazing time with Seapiper Tours in Sitka! Matt was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the wildlife and the area. It didn’t feel like a scripted tour at all—more like being shown around by a friend who genuinely loves this place. We saw bears, whales, seals, and sea otters, and learned so much along the way. You can tell Matt really cares about giving people a true Sitka experience. We came away happy campers and would absolutely recommend Seapiper Tours to anyone visiting!

If you're seeking one diverse and comprehensive tour to experience the best of Alaskan wildlife, look no further than Captain Matt's charter. This trip was, without a doubt, the highlight of our vacation.
The wildlife viewing was simply phenomenal: we saw majestic bald eagles, several playful sea otters, enormous Steller sea lions, and an incredible number of whales. The absolute pinnacle was watching an Alaskan coastal brown bear actively hunting and eating salmon—a truly unforgettable moment.
Captain Matt goes the extra mile. I mentioned that I love lighthouses, and he kindly steered us past a unique, man-made AirBnB that offered a perfect photo opportunity. We initially booked through Viator, but for your next trip, we strongly recommend booking directly through Captain Matt's website. If you want a tour that captures it all, book this tour!
